Atlas Copco GVD - Two-Stage Oil-Sealed Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps for High Vacuum Applications
Atlas Copco GVD – Two-Stage Oil-Sealed Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps
Atlas Copco GVD vacuum pumps are proven two-stage oil-sealed rotary vane pumps for applications requiring deep ultimate vacuum. With their two-stage design, they achieve significantly lower pressures than single-stage pumps, making them ideal for high vacuum processes.

Operating Principle of Two-Stage Pumps:
In two-stage rotary vane vacuum pumps, gas passes through two pumping stages sequentially. The first stage (high vacuum stage) draws in the gas and compresses it to an intermediate pressure. The second stage (backing stage) takes the pre-compressed gas and discharges it against atmospheric pressure. This two-stage arrangement enables significantly deeper ultimate vacuum than single-stage pumps.
